The Tripoli District is a small, but very densely populated district in the North Governorate of Lebanon. It consists of the city Tripoli, Lebanon and the surrounding area. The majority of residents are Sunni Muslim but also a sizable minority of Orthodox and Maronite Christians, and a very small minority of Alawites and Shiites.
