BEIRUT GOVERNORATE

Governate Of BeirutThe Governorate of Beirut (Arabic: محافظة بيروت‎, Muhāfazat Bayrūt) is the only Lebanese governorate that consists of one district and one city, Beirut, which is also its capital, and the capital of Lebanon. The area of this governorate is 19.8 km² (without suburbs); despite its small size, it is considered the most important region in Lebanon because of its economical, political, cultural, and social activity.

SOUTH GOVERNORATE

South Lebanon GovernorateSouth Governorate (Arabic: الجنوب‎; transliterated: al-Janub) is one of the governorates of Lebanon. South Lebanon has a population of 360,000 inhabitants and an area of 2,000 km². The capital is Sidon. The lowest elevation is sea-level; the highest is 1,000 meters. The inhabitants are a mixture of Shiites, Sunnis, Orthodox, Catholics, Armenians, and Protestants.
Temperatures can drop to 4 °C during winter with a lot of rain and snow on the higher ground. In the humid summer, temperatures can rise to 30 °C in the coastal areas.
The governorate has several rivers:
the Litani, Zahrani, Naqura, Awali, Qasmiye, and Hasbani.
The area is famous for its citrus and banana farms.

MOUNT LEBANON GOVERNORATE

Mount Lebanon GovernorateMount Lebanon (Arabic: جبل لبنان‎; transliterated: Jabal Libnan) is one of the Governorates of Lebanon. Its capital is Baabda. The governorate is often dubbed the "Heartland of Lebanese Christians" due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of its population is Maronites, Greek Orthodox, and Melkite Greek Catholic Christians.
However, there are also many Muslims in the area, including the Druze community.

Beqaa Lebanon GovernorateThe Beqaa governorate covers an area of 4,429 km². Béqaa is the primary center of Lebanon's agriculture. The Beqaa governorate forms the main geographical extension of Lebanon and it lies between the Western and Eastern Lebanese Mountain ranges. Two rivers run through Béqaa: the Litani River and the Asi River It encompasses Beqaa Valley.
